Gentlemen,

In reply to the enquiries contained in your letter of 12th instant, M/Hong Kong 12342, relative to H. Fishburn, Assistant Keeper, who has been recommended for appointment as a Light Keeper in Hong Kong, I am directed to aquaint you that Fishburn is on the pensionable establishment of the Trinity House Service, but in the event of hie

the selection for appointment under/Hong Kong Government he would be required to sever his connection with the Trinity House Service, subject to his being entitled on his ultimate retirement from the Public Service to draw from the General Lighthouse Fund, in addition to any pension or superannuation allowance from any other source,

a pension in respect of his service with the Trinity

House.

Fishburn is at present stationed at Flatholm Island in the Bristol Channel near Cardiff.

Although it is not possible to state definitely beforehand exactly what charges would be necessited by Fishburn's appointment, as such charges would be dependent on the circumstances obtaining at the time of Fishburn's appointment, it does not seem likely that apart from the cost of the expense of Fishburn's removal from Flatholm to the port of embarkation, the expenses for the transfer of other Keepers would exceed Fifty Pounds.
